The consumer-facing features replace search bars with natural language. The Grab AI Assistant handles restaurant discovery and booking from conversational prompts. "A vibrant spot for a birthday with vegan options" returns dine-in restaurants with private dining and dietary filters applied. The system draws on leading AI models combined with Grab's first-party data on user habits, location history, and order patterns.
The Shopping Agent goes further than text. Send a photo of a handwritten list, a voice note, or a typed message — the agent builds a cart across multiple merchants, applies smart substitutions for unavailable items, and presents a checkout-ready order. Group Ride lets up to four passengers share a vehicle with AI-calculated coordinated pickups, saving up to 40 percent with automatic payment splitting. Grab More combines orders from nearby merchants into a single delivery with no extra fee.
GrabMaps now extends indoors. Mall navigation guides consumers to specific stores and floors. Real-time EV charger locations and parking availability appear on the map. A cost comparison tool shows Grab ride pricing versus driving yourself. Custom Voice lets users clone their own voice for turn-by-turn directions.
On the financial side, Cash Loan uses AI-powered underwriting against Grab's first-party transaction data to deliver lending decisions in seconds. Chief Product Officer Philipp Kandal framed the philosophy at the launch: "AI should work the hardest for the people who need it most."
